THE AREA

“The Old Byres is a beautiful property set in the gorgeous town of Washford.”

It sleeps 16 adults comfortably; there were 14 of us staying for 4 nights over Christmas 2018. It’s spacious and very well maintained; it has everything you could need. We all had an amazing time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and Sykes.

Mrs McCluskey, December 2018

“The house was stunning and far exceeded expectations.”

We had the most wonderful time and would love to go back again.

Ms Perry, March 2019

“Everyone thought the house was fantastic.”

Brilliant facilities. Pool room was great. Owners were really helpful and so was Hannah. Great amount of crockery, glasses, etc. Plenty of room for everyone. Photos don’t do it justice!

Large Group Holiday Cottage

This cottage is extremely spacious and provides a fabulous holiday home for families wishing to celebrate that special occasion in style and luxury.

Combining character features with modern décor and with underfloor heating and two woodburners, this wonderful cottage feels welcoming and special.

The hub of the home is no doubt the large kitchen diner with handmade refectory table positioned close to the patio doors, so that the family can spill out on to the lawn for alfresco breakfasts and summery evening barbecues.

Alternatively, on cooler evenings, the kitchen/diner has a woodburner and sofas for relaxing in front of the chef!

The cosy sitting room has high vaulted ceilings with plenty of exposed oak beams, a collection of deep sofas and a woodburner to toast your toes after a day’s walking in the countryside, or a hectic day on the beach.

Relax together for a film night or for a quieter moment there is a piano for the musical member of the family to entertain you.

Sleeping up to 16, this cottage has been beautifully decorated and furnished to a high standard. With most bedrooms having en-suite bathrooms, this fabulous cottage offer all of the luxuries that you would expect from a holiday home. With country-style kitchens with flagstone floors, cosy sitting rooms with inviting woodburning stoves and exposed beams and stone walls throughout, this cottage provides accommodation for the discerning holidaymaker. There is a private outdoor courtyard area secure for small children away from swimming pool. Plus use of a large grassed area with access to a stream. Please note this is shared with another cottage.

We have a 7ft pool table in the games rooms with a cosy woodburner and sofas for spectating. Looking out of the games room is the hot tub for those wishing to unwind. We also have the sauna and in finer weather the pool! Please note that the pool is open 1st May – 1st Oct and is heated for the months of June, July and August only.

In the kitchen area we have a reading and games area for those wishing to play board games. In the lounge there is an X-Box kinect with a couple of games to keep everyone happy. There are also an assortment of DVD’s in the lounge.

In the courtyard garden there is a small lawned area and decking with an outdoor table tennis table and BBQ.

Please note there is a meter for the sauna requiring pound coins.

Why not relax in the sauna, have a dip in the swimming pool or chill out in the hot tub under the stars?

For teenies and pets, there is an enclosed courtyard garden with Wendy house and lawn area, plus plenty of seats for adults to sit peacefully.

There is a selection of toys for smaller children in the reading area and puzzles and board games. In the courtyard garden there is a little playhouse for the little ones. At the property we have an assortment of high chairs, a travel cot, a play pen and some other items for the little ones. There is a stairgate at the top of the stairs to prevent falls in the night. I am happy to discuss if your require any further information.
